On the Phenomenology of Simulative Existence

Abstract

Author shows that in Russia capitalist globalization generated the world of simulacra and, in particular, simulative consumption. As the result human being is determined by brands. Simulacra are the result of the development of the relations of alienation, generated by the determination of social life by the private interest. Culture, which always was the alternative to the world of alienation, has become the sphere of creation of the products of alienation. Оne can fnd аlternatives to such world in new social practices, where individual can become the creator of the history and culture.
