The Kama Region. Social and Cultural Crossing
Abstract
The paper presents an analysis of the Perm kray involvement in modernization processes. The tool of Central Institute of Modernization of the China Academy of Sciences was employed to measure the involvement, which had been adapted to match the specifics of Russian statistics by the Centre for Socio-Cultural Change Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, within the framework of the Programme «Socio-Cultural Portraits of Regions of Russia». The paper offers a brief analysis of problems of socio-cultural development of Prikamye with human potential of the kray at the focus, and exhibits dynamics of its indicators in comparison with the adjacent regions of Russia.
