The Challenges of Globalisation and the Prospects of Cooperation between Russia and China in the Asia-Pacific Region

Abstract

The article investigates the ways of development of Russia and China in the era of globalisation and studies the differences in the design and implementation of their economic models. The author shows that the economic development of China today is associated with a number of significant problems (scarcity of natural resources, weakness of the internal market, environmental issues, etc.). Nevertheless, the economic growth of China, which has taken a dominant position in the Asia-Pacific region, today is a definite challenge for Russia, because for our country the breakthrough in the Asia-Pacific region is associated with the prospects of long-term cooperation with China.
