The Great Champion of Justice
Abstract
The article examines the struggle of A. Herzen against Russia’s despotic regime and for liberation of the peasants from serfdom, his search for laws of the society’s historical development, ways of its reorganization and harmonization of the socially active person. The author shows that the socialist reforms, proposed by Herzen, were impossible under the historical conditions of his time.
