Philosophy of Memory: Russian Social History in the Memoirs of A.V. Tyrkova-Williams
Abstract
A.V. Tyrkova-Williams, famous Russian journalist and authoress, has had a vast infuence on the public life of Russia. In this text the author studies the memorial heritage of the authoress in the context of Russian cultural and political history. The article analyses Russian social history not as the past for the sake of the past but the past as a living part of cultural experience, as the guarantee of its historical self-consciousness extension.
