                In this panel discussion certain theoretical and practical problems are treated, dealing with a series of phenomena, processes and tendencies, brought together under the general title «social archaization» meaning the backward movement of society from more complicated forms towards more simple and primitive. The statement is argued, according to which archaization is a specifed social process that could be made prone to management and control.

            Abstract
            
    
                The attempt to «reconstruct» science, in particular, genetics, is under consideration in the paper. The author exposes struggle of the two lines: the line by Lysenko, so called «Michurin's» one, and the line oriented to world science. The paper contains information relevant to the session of VASHNIL in August 1948, when Soviet genetics was routed by the party headed by Lysenko and supported by Stalin.
