Abstract
Like the Earth, the world is bipolar and China has been one of its poles through most of the human history, as it will be in the 21st century. Its book of books - the Book of Changes (or the Yi Jing) - foreruns the binary code of all computer programs, and hieroglyphics may become the language of international communication on the Internet. In the visual world of today pictures oust words and the old culture of characters gets a new life. Thus sinology becomes a universal science of the humanity's past and future, of the dialog between civilizations and of the fate of Russia.

Abstract
The article treats one of the most urgent issues concerning the relationship between two concepts, at first sight radically opposed to each other - the concept of moral integrity, or virtue, and that of profit, the latter being regarded in a broader dimension than mere material gain. The issue is considered from a diachronic perspective. And the conclusion that profit and virtue are embedded in human social, ethical, and economic development is set as a foundation to the contemporary view on personal prosperity and degradation. Modern society, with its inevitable crises, relies upon the solution of the issue in question as a panacea from egocentrism and avarice, self-interest and mindless consumerism.

Abstract
The article suggests a brief history of China's modernisation in the 20th and beginning of 21st century. The author reveals the specificity of the modernisation associated with the ratio of old and new, experience of everyday life of people, and regional projects. The author holds that political modernisation and mobilisation of masses are less important in the modernisation of China. Flaws of Russian modernisation today in comparison with the Chinese experience are characterized by weakness of modernisation prerequisites in everyday life, lack of region-specific projects of modernisation, and prevalence of political modernisation over economic and scientific-technical modernisation.

Abstract
China, as opposed to what they say about his strategy in the US, is not going to either challenge the existing world order or fit into it. China, trying to avoid open confrontation with the United States and Western countries, builds his own parallel world, based not so much on geopolitics, but on geo-economics. And already by its very existence the modern China proves the possibility of path different from the West.

Abstract
This article analyses an experience of economic reform in China, which began in the end of 70s of the 20th century and is being under way for more than 30 years. In comparison with economic reform in Russia reforms in China are not connected with fast liberalization of economy, but its main goal in China is a transition from planned to market economy step by step. Science plays a decisive role in elaboration of transition model to market economy. A shift of directive economic figures in favor of indicative figures is a base for Chinese economic reforms. As a result, for the period of economic reforms China achieved a great success in comparison with Russian economy.
